The perfect practice for tight bodies and busy minds. The feeling you are left with after you have practised Yin Yoga is amazing — do your body and your mind a great favour.
A slow-paced style of yoga consisting of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body — the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine — Yin is the perfect balance to our other ‘yang’ styles of yoga.
The areas Yin Yoga focusses on are especially rich in connective tissues, the poses are held for 3 minutes or more allowing you to access deeper layers of the connective tissues. Different Yin Yoga poses stimulate and remove blockages in the myofascial meridians in the body. This has the effect of balancing the body’s internal organs and systems. Classes are 60 or 75 minutes in a nice snug room temperature, just a little heat to keep your muscles warm and stretchy!

The perfect release for body and mind
Yin yoga is a beautiful practice that helps us heal both our heart and our mind. From a physical standpoint, yin postures are all about release. Postures and breathwork typically focus on manipulating the fascia — the deep connective tissues that fit like a sleeve around muscle groups and individual muscles. It also allows us time to sit within ourselves, to just be still, and to notice what the body and mind are telling us.
Calms and balances the mind and body. Reduces stress and anxiety. Releases deeply held tension. Give yourself plenty of time to do nothing other than ‘just breathe.’
Targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve mobility, especially in the hips.
Creates a balance within your energy systems and a unique sense of calmness you will feel both physically and mentally, balancing your Chi.
