A slow-paced style of yoga consisting of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body — the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine — Yin is the perfect balance to our other ‘yang’ styles of yoga.
The areas Yin Yoga focusses on are especially rich in connective tissues, the poses are held for 3 minutes or more allowing you to access deeper layers of the connective tissues. Different Yin Yoga poses stimulate and remove blockages in the myofascial meridians in the body. This has the effect of balancing the body’s internal organs and systems. Classes are 60 or 75 minutes in a nice snug room temperature, just a little heat to keep your muscles warm and stretchy!
